InSPiR2eS Centre for
Responsible Science

Vision & Goal

The InSPiR2eS Centre for Responsible Science (IC4RS) provides a virtual platform for like-minded researchers to promote and engage in the principles and practices of Responsible Science. The primary vision and goal of IC4RS is to meaningfully facilitate a conducive environment, motivations, and incentives for the next generation of researchers to deliver high quality research that is credible, relevant, and independent. Moreover, the underlying vision of the IC4RS is to service, at scale, remote and under-resourced locations around the globe where research training and capacity building in line with the principles of Responsible Science, is, at best, a monumental challenge and, at worst, entirely non-existent.

MicroCredential (MC) Initiative

In May 2022 a Micro-credential course was launched through Bond University called “Pitching Research Matters”. Here are a few details about this exciting addition to our network resources which significantly leverage our research training and capacity building goals:

OFFERINGS

Research Process

This course is designed to give students a basic understanding of the essential elements of the research process. A critical framing comes from “responsible science” and the “pitching research framework”. You will be asked to pitch a key paper relevant to your thesis and then use this experience as a stepping stone for creating your own personal pitch. You will also be armed with a framework of pitching research for engagement and impact.

Finance Theory

This course is designed to introduce students to the major models of asset pricing and to rational expectations models.  All of the material is developed from first principles, so there are no formal prerequisites for taking this seminar.  It is assumed, however, that students are familiar with basic microeconomic theory and have a working knowledge of both calculus and matrix algebra.

Research Methodologies

This course is designed to introduce students to the major research methodologies used in modern research.  All of the material is developed from first principles, so there are no formal prerequisites for taking this seminar.

Finance Empirical

This course, is designed to introduce you to the empirical methods of modern Finance. We do not have time to cover all the topics or papers in the field. However, the subset of topics and papers which we do cover are chosen because they highlight some of the key concepts involved in current empirical work in Finance. Assignments are an important part of this course. In these assignments you will be asked to test some of the models that we study.
